Diagnosis Asthma
Diagnosis Asthma
Don't panic! There is usually no need to change your whole way of life, such as moving or finding a new job. Being diagnosed with asthma can be quite a shock – after all, the disease will most likely accompany you for the rest of your life – but today asthma symptoms respond well to medication, and by following the rules, you will find that you can live almost the same as you did before.
When you are first diagnosed with asthma, you may have a lot of medical and non-medical questions that your doctor can't possibly answer in just one consultation. Other questions might occur to you afterward. And thus you may feel quite alone with your new illness.
This patient support project has been specially developed to address these concerns. Eight short films highlight important points about living life as a newly diagnosed asthmatic, and will answer a number of questions that you or your doctor may not have had time to address, or that simply didn't occur to you. More importantly, the project shows that there is no reason to be ashamed about asthma, or to let it keep you from living your life to the fullest.
