You are not Alone!

Today asthma affects about 300 million people worldwide. Even though the number of newly diagnosed asthmatics is increasing, the illness can now be treated effectively with modern therapies. Working as a team, the doctor/nurse and the new patient can control asthma and reduce its symptoms, ensuring that the patient's quality of life remains the same, or even increases.

The patient support project described here aims to provide a better understanding of day-to-day life with asthma and to promote co-operation and communication between doctor/nurse and patients.

Only when asthmatics gain sufficient knowledge about living with the illness day-to-day is it possible for them to make the most of therapeutic advice, and to achieve the patient support project's goal of "maximum compliance for maximum quality of life".
