Managing asthma
For asthma treatment to be successful it is useful to learn all you can about asthma and asthma treatments and to have open communication with your doctor about the symptoms that you experience. Asthma is a chronic condition and needs regular and sustained treatment to make sure that it is controlled, even if you feel that your asthma is better, you should carry on taking your asthma medications as prescribed by your doctor.
You may already have an 'Asthma Action Plan'
An asthma action plan is often used by doctors to help patients control their asthma properly. The plan is based on frequency and severity of symptoms or results of lung function tests, and sets out how you should use your medication depending on how controlled your asthma is.
