This book, published in November 2011, contains the first comprehensive survey of its kind conducted “by patients, for patients” reporting on the diagnosis, quality and accessibility of best practices on care and prevention of respiratory allergy across Europe, with shortfalls and successes judged by the patient organisations. This book was originally published in English, but translations have since been made available in many EFA member languages.

Full Report | Executive Summary This is the first report to communicate the experience of Europeans with severe asthma symptoms, by the patients. We hope that this report will encourage national governments and the EU to prioritise severe asthma and increase awareness and information among the public, patients and healthcare professionals.

The report presents an overview of evidence-based data about exposure to indoor air pollution and its health effects, particularly as regards allergies, asthma and other respiratory diseases such as COPD; review of cost-effective measures and technology to improve indoor air quality; review of legislation and guidelines on indoor air pollution; and recommends an integrated strategy for indoor air quality policies for implementation in Europe

Executive Summary  1 2 3 Investigates the issues related to indoor air quality in schools. This includes, indoor air pollution and allergic disseases associated with 'sick buildings', gives an overview of European data concerning indoor air quality of the school environment and makes recommendations for a European programme on indoor air quality in schools.
