We need you!
Everything we do, we do it with and for patients.
Chronic disease patients and the people close to them know better than anyone else what is like to live with allergy, asthma and COPD. Because of their genuine experience, they know exactly how things can improve and how changes can impact their lives.
In Europe, realities on the ground differ from country to country due to healthcare systems being different from one EU country to another, but European Union being a big region, with different environments, cultures and social levels.
Your experience is enriching to us and can push forward EFA’s calls to have the best quality care, uncompromised lives and have right to a good environment.
If you share the same aims we do, we can reflect your testimony, ideas and place them at European level. Your input will help us represent you better and all other patients in the same situation.
What is patient advocacy
Patient advocacy are the efforts initiatives by patientsand carers seeking to influence the elements and Organisations that have the power to ultimately benefit patients. As an individual you have the power to draw greater attention from policy makers to ensure your right to receive good quality care is a reality in Europe.
Advocacy is a powerful tool for member-based civil society organisations. To advocate means to initiate a series of actions addressed to leaders and political representatives, to influence someone’s views and lead to a change. At EFA, advocacy serves us to voice the needs of patients, involve patients in the decision making-process, influence decisions and gain meaningful changes to empower allergy, asthma and COPD patients to live an active life.
How you can help
You have the power to draw greater attention from policy makers to ensure your right to receive good quality care is achieved in Europe.
We offer opportunities to patients advocates among our network to participate and present in public events, to the Members of the European Parliament
Patient advocates also help create patient evidence material: thanks to their testimonies we can take samples of healthcare realities in different countries.
For those expert patient advocates already active among our network or patients, we offer them the opportunity to represent the patients’ interest in EU projects, not only by integrating into project bodies but through patient consultative platforms for research.
