EFA Member FFAAIR organized for the first time the National Respiratory Days in the Chateau Monchat in Lyon, France.
The organisation prepared two days of conferences and workshops to discuss about the challenges faced by COPD, asthma, Idiopathic Pulmonary Fibrosis and sleep apnoea and other patients affected by respiratory diseases. A cross cutting theme was the need for more education for patients.
The most touching moment of this event was the round table with patients. Their voice and their personal stories are a proof of the difficulties and courage that many respiratory patients show to overcome diseases. Among them were several severe COPD patients, some operated of cancer, others living the medical oxygen, and a patient that recuperated from not being able to move, to run bicycle marathon!
