EFA brings the patients' perspective to the WHO Global Alliance Against Respiratory Diseases
Did you know that some time back the World Health Organisation decided to put respiratory diseases on the spotlight, including asthma and COPD and established GARD - the Global Alliance against chronic Respiratory Diseases? EFA was one of the founding members. Over the years other major diseases such as cancer, heart disease and diabetes were in the focus of action and then GARD slowed down. EFA is delighted that GARD is back and we participated with our Members Asthma UK and Austrian Lung Union in its Assembly held in Lisbon.

We can curve down asthma - Join us!
"We are the first generation that can end asthma". This is the motto of the European Asthma Research Innovation Programme (EARIP) and the central issue that will be discussed in a Stakeholder Workshop that we will be holding in Brussels next Tuesday 15th of September. Discussions will focus on the lessons we can learn from national programmes on asthma, to set up the basis for a successful approach at European level.
