Minimum Standards of Care for COPD Patients in Europe

EFA is excited to release its second book concerning COPD in Europe, the EFA Book on Minimum Standards of Care for COPD patients in Europe, which was produced as a result of the EFA COPD Project.

The book began as an effort by EFA’s COPD Working Group members, who assembled a list of common gaps in COPD patient care in their countries. Enough overlap was seen that in the spring and summer of 2013, 16 countries with EFA members and partners were surveyed with a questionnaire concerning the status quo of patient care for COPD.

The resulting publication is a patient-driven and centered foundation for the establishment of minimum standards of care for COPD patients in Europe. It can be seen as a guide for policymakers, medical professionals and other national stakeholders to call for much needed change in specific areas of care.

The book’s official presentation to the public is at the joint EFA/European COPD Coalition (ECC) event to mark the 2013 World COPD Day on 28 November, 2013 in Brussels.

Any inquiries related to the book can be sent to projects@efanet.org. To request copies of the book, please call the EFA office at +32 (0) 2 227 2713.
