Today is the World Asthma Day and we celebrate it bringing asthma patients asks to the center of the discussion. Our President Breda Flood will be part of a delegation composed by healthcare professionals and patients campaigning to gather Members of the European Parliament support to the Interest Group on Allergy and Asthma, a platform that will serve to channel the direct needs from patients and healthcare professionals to the European Parliament. In April we brought the patient perspective to European health and environment ministry officials dealing with air pollution. Respiratory disease patients groups are not often involved by public authorities to define public messages to inform and alert about the short and long terms effects of air pollution in vulnerable groups. In April we launched a call for asthma patients who wish to become experts in myAirCoach consortium, an EU research project that is developing a mobile health system to self-manage asthma. We also participated in AirPROM Annual Meeting in London, an EU project that is creating a virtual model of the lung that can be used by scientists and healthcare professionals to predict disease and match treatment for asthma and COPD patients. Read More...

In April we had the pleasure to participate in a training on Health Technology Assessment (HTA) to increase patient involvement in development of medicines and medical devices.
