Votes on Tobacco Products Directive and Medical Devices are coming in September. After the ENVI Committee of the European Parliament sided with public health interest in their vote on the TPD in July, it is now crucial for EFA to continue advocating for the best possible outcomes for patients and citizens in Europe together with the health community. Read More...

EFA brings you updates on two projects focused on allergy and COPD. As a part of the COPD project, EFA members completed a survey on minimal standards of care for COPD patients in Europe. The Pilot Programme for pharmacies, in collaboration with the PGEU, carried out in Austria also bore fruit and its results were presented at the EAACI-WAO Congress in Milan. Read More...

COPD was finally recognised a priority disease by the WHO in their latest “Priority medicines Update Report for Europe and the World”. EFA welcomes this decision as it is a big step forward that will help to raise awareness of COPD and place it at the centre of attention for European policy-makers. Read More...

In the summer, EFA took part in several meetings aimed at raising awareness for the needs of patients with allergies and respiratory diseases. EFA’s Allergy Awareness Project was presented at the GARD Assembly, EFA’s members took part in a workshop devoted to food allergy in Milan and EFA was represented at EPF’s EMPATHY seminar with young patients. Read More...

In its six months term, the Lithuanian presidency of the Council of the EU will try to advance the adoption of Tobacco Products Directive, Clinical Trials, Medical Devices and F-Gas Regulation.
