Ahead of World no Tobacco Day 31st of May, a new Eurobarometer survey on tobacco was released. The survey shows that 3 on 4 European citizens support pictorial health warnings on cigarette packs and smoking bans for restaurants. However, the survey reminds us that one third of European population still smoke, while tobacco kills one user on two. In his speech Commissioner for Health and Consumer Policy John Dalli reacted to these results by declaring his determination “to do everything in my power to reduce tobacco consumption across Europe”.
