EFA Member, the Swiss Lung Association, has presented to the Swiss Federal Council in June a strategy for the development of the new Tobacco Products Act. According to the association, the draft law could be improved by including that tobacco advertisiment should be prohibited in cinemas, in the press and on posters. Sponsoring on outlets such as kiosks or open-air festivals should be also regulated in this direction. Lungenliga, who has presented its suggestions together with other patients' organsiations, considers that only a comprehensive ban on advertising, promotion and sponsorship will have a positive impact on the protection of youth against smoking.
