In September we published the translations into French, German and Spanish of our HEY YA report on young patients with asthma that we presented at the ERS Congress (London), the European Medicines Agency (London) and the European Health Forum Gastein (EHFG). The translations are available in our website.

September was a perfect month to promote the results of our young people with asthma project during high level international events. At the European Respiratory Society Congress in London, EFA Antje-Henriette Fink-Wagner, presented the HEY YA! findings in a thematic poster session on asthma management in primary care, on Sunday 4th September. The chairs of the session, J. Correia de Sousa, D. Ryan, M. Levy and A. Sheikh, were impressed about the outcomes and congratulated EFA for having succeeded in involving such a large number of adolescents from different countries in the study.

At the European Medicines Agency (EMA), EFA Vice President Erna Botjes also presented the results of the HEY YA report during a joint meeting of the HealthCare Professionals Working Party (HPWP) and the Patients and Consumers Working Party (PCWP), in front of a full and interested room of specialists, consumers and patients representatives from all over Europe.

At the European Health Forum Gastein (EHFG), the main conference on EU health policy in Europe, Prof. Erkka Valovirta presented the outcomes of the study in front of an audience interested in Active and Healthy Ageing and its promotion during childhood. Member of the European Parliament Karin Kadenbach (Austria / S&D) presented EFA’s report recommendations to better support young people in adhering to their asthma treatment and engaged in a discussion with other policy makers on what the European and national institutions could do for facilitate this process.

While these international events are mainly in English, we would like to disseminate to the highest extent the results of this survey carried out in 4 countries (France, Germany, UK, and Spain) by translating it. Please download them here and do not hesitate sharing them at national level.
