On the 31st of January, the European Commission published a new proposal for Health Technology Assessment (HTA) cooperation in the European Union (EU)  beyond 2020. EFA welcomes this announcement of cooperation as it means the Commission takes into account stakeholders’ consultation in the proposal on HTA. Patients’ voice will then have a say by being involved in decisions around HTA.

We have been part of the EU pool of experts on HTA representing patients and consumers since early 2017 of which a successful meeting with EUnetHTA and hosted by the Commission took place on the 26th of January. EFA is analysing the proposal in detail. Watch this space!
