European Parliament Interest Group on Allergy and Asthma: Addressing patient unmet needs in allergy and asthma care

Registration is closed for this event

Thursday 13 January, 13.00-14.15pm (virtual event)

Allergy and asthma are among the most prevalent chronic conditions in Europe, and the most prevalent in Europe’s children. In light of the new EU Pharmaceutical Strategy for Europe, the revision of relevant legislation (medicines for children and rare diseases, general pharmaceuticals legislation), an increased focus on health research, as well as the upcoming proposal of the European Health Data Space, patient needs are and should be at the core of the EU policies going forward.

This event aims to shed light on the patient unmet needs in allergy and asthma care, against the backdrop of persistent challenges exacerbated by the COVID-19 pandemic, and a patient-centred Pharmaceutical strategy. The discussions will look into current challenges at the EU and national level, and propose policy solutions to overcome them for the benefit of patients, boosting access to high-level quality care.

The event is co-hosted by Interest Group members Co-Chairs MEP Tilly Metz (Greens/EFA-Luxembourg) and MEP Juozas Olekas (S&D- Lithuania).

This project is made possible thanks to unrestricted grants from EFA's Sustainable Funding Partners: GSK, Chiesi, Sanofi and Regeneron.
