Votes on legislative dossiers of major concern for EFA have been postponed in September. Tobacco Products Directive, Medical Devices Regulation and Clinical Trials Regulation will all be voted later than expected. As a result of the Oxygen Harmonisation Project, EFA presented a new publication in September: Enabling Air Travel with Oxygen in Europe: An EFA Booklet for Patients with Respiratory Disease. This booklet prepared in collaboration with ELF aims to harmonise rules for travelling with oxygen on board aircrafts and put an end to discrimination of patients with respiratory diseases.     Read More...

Two important events related to improving the treatment of asthma took place in September. The new EARIP project aimed at reducing asthma attacks, emergency healthcare utilisation and asthma deaths kicked off in Barcelona and first two studies of U-BIOPRED project were presented to public. Read More...

In October 2013 EFA will organise a training on EU decision-making for its members. This year’s “Meet & Greet the EU Institutions” will focus on Tobacco Products Directive and Air Pollution. Apart from workshops and role plays, participants with learn more about legislative processes and meet MEPs and key policy makers.

In September EFA has been busy again attending meetings on environmental challenges and emissions. We celebrated HEAL's 10th anniversary and gave our opinion on sharing data from clinical trials at the EFPIA meeting. Calling for more transparency, EFA also took part in a first workshop of its kind on EMA's new conflict of interest policy.  Read More...
