The 50.63% of Europeans that voted marked the first time since the 1st direct elections in 1979 that turnout actually increased, which was also the case in 21 out of 28 Member States. On May 31st we celebrated Word No Tobacco Day with a focus on “tobacco and lung health”. At EFA we emphasised the negative effects of tobacco and smoking disseminating new data from asthma and COPD patients on their perceptions and use of tobacco. We also celebrated our Dutch Member, Longfonds, award to their initiative Tobacco Free Generation, a distinction given by the WHO.
