Showing consensus on what needs to be done for atopic eczema

At EADV 2023, we launched a video message to European policymakers with recommendations on how to improve the diagnosis and care for patients living with atopic eczema. The video features patient organisations, healthcare professionals and experts, and covered the most significant challenges of the atopic eczema burden:

  • What is the Atopic Eczema Burden
  • Why do we need consensus across Europe on how to treat atopic eczema
  • How can we improve atopic dermatitis diagnosis rates
  • Why is personalised treatment needed
  • How to improve atopic dermatitis / atopic eczema diagnosis and treatment in the future

Disseminating EFA’s Consensus report

In 2022, EFA launched the Atopic Eczema Consensus Europe Report as a result of the discussions of a Consensus Committee of 15 key opinion leaders from the atopic eczema community. As multidisciplinary experts, they conducted an assessment of the situation with atopic eczema in Europe the three areas that affect patients the most:

  • The physical and emotional burden of AD/E
  • The diagnosis and care burden of AD/E
  • The financial and economic burden of AD/E

The report is a comprehensive summary on the current situation, challenges, and solutions to improve the management of the disease and the lives of people living with AD/E. The report is available in English and 10 other languages.
