The European Commission and EunetHTA organised a forum on Health Technology Assessment on the 21st of October 2016, in Brussels.

During the Forum, it was clear that besides the definition and implementation of sustainable models for the scientific and technical cooperation on Health Technology Assessment (HTA) in Europe, there is a need of greater cooperation between the different stakeholders involved in HTA, to guarantee patient access, health innovation, payers participation and quality products.

Themes like early HTA development for patient access and its synergies with the drug regulatory process were discussed and got to the same conclusions: there is a need to adopt common European procedures on HTA in Europe.

During the Forum the European Commission presented the public consultation on the future of EU collaboration on HTA, open until the 13th January.
