The conference "What role for diseases and patients in shaping Horizon 2020? – A COPD case study of patient involvement" under the patronage of the EU Lithuanian presidency will mark the 2013 World COPD Day. There will be three main sessions of the event. After the brief introductory part in the morning the first session with the title "Is Horizon 2020 fit to accommodate disease specific research? Is it too late to make it fit for disease purpose?" will take place. It will be followed by the session which will focus on "Patients working with academia and policy makers to inform Research". The final session will take place after the lunch break and will be named "What is the best care for COPD and how can research improve standards of care for COPD?". During coffee breaks between the sessions, during lunch break and after the last session, there will be possibility for the participants to undergo free spirometry testing.
