EFA met with the German Allergy and Asthma Association On September the 10th, EFA met with representatives of the German Allergy and Asthma Association - Deutscher Allergie- und Asthmabund e.V. (DAAB) to share current activities and explore potential collaboration in the future. The organization is the eldest European patient organization focused on allergy and asthma, already existing since 1897 and has developed a wide collection of successes over the years. We would like to thank DAAB members for the fruitful meeting with EFA’s president Breda Flood, EFA’s Fundraising and Project Manager, Antje Fink-Wagner and EFA’s Project Assistant, Joke de Vocht, and we hope a strong collaboration in the future. Finnish scent sensitivity campaign Awareness poster on scent and fragrances sensitivity.[/caption]   A campaigns for scent sensitivity by the Finnish Allergy and Asthma Federation Between 10 to 40 per cent of the Finnish population suffer from scent sensitivity. To raise awareness on this issue the Finnish Allergy and Asthma Federation will run a scentless week-campaign from the 13th to the 19th October 2014, to challenge people and organizations to spend a week without scents. This is the first time the Finnish Allergy and Asthma Federation will be launching such a campaign but they aim to do it yearly. Since May, the federation has collected signatures and opinion online on the need to raise awareness about reactions caused by fragances and scents. Among the activities, the federation will arrange scentless movie events in collaboration with Finnkino, a local movie company.   Asthma Society of Ireland public support to the Healthy Lungs fo Life campaign On September 22nd, Board Member of Asthma Society of Ireland Breda Flood, and EFA President, participated in a morning programme of irish television to raise awareness about lung disease and severe asthma. She provided with her experience as a severe asthma patients and some tricks for other patietns in the same situation. Her full intervention can be seen here.
