The 26th UN Climate Change Conference of the Parties (COP26) took place in Glasgow (United Kingdom) from 31 October – 13 November 2021. The summit was an opportunity for world leaders to come together to commit to concerted action towards the goals of the Paris Agreement and the UN Framework Convention on Climate Change. Civil society was also present to bring the issues related to climate change that deeply concern the public to the political leaders.

Yet despite the broad scope of the summit, air pollution, and the impacts it can have on human health and the environment, was not afforded adequate attention. You can read EFA’s analysis of the COP26 here.

At COP26, EFA Member the Asthma UK and the British Lung Foundation Partnership hosted a stand to highlight the health crisis caused by air pollution. The event brought together a panel of clean air advocates, policymakers and academics to discuss strategies to tackle this crisis.
